Utah Lake State Park

Outdoor adventurers in the state of Utah cannot miss a trip to Utah Lake State Park. This is the perfect place for nature walks and other adventures, and it has much to offer everyone from the avid outdoor enthusiast to the beginning hiker.
Basic park facts
Utah Lake State Park is located just west of Provo and about 50 miles from Salt Lake City. It is open during all months of the year, but closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. There is a nominal fee to enter the park, but proceeds are all used for upkeep and to pay the workers.
Utah Lake
Utah Lake is a small, fresh water lake. Visitors can use it for boating and jet skiing. There are also areas that are great for fishing and canoeing. Sailing is possible on days with calm weather. During the winter, ice fishing is a common sport amongst visitors.
Activities on land
The surrounding park is also a great place for land-related outdoor activities. There are numerous picnic areas as well as trails and overlooks for wildlife watching.
Camping at the park
Visitors who love the park so much that they just cannot see it all in one day can stay overnight at the campgrounds. There are both pull-through and back-in sites, as well as some sites with hookups. Visitors must book camping sites through Reserve America.
Visiting Utah Lake Park is an experience in and of itself. Enjoy an afternoon of fishing or boating and finish it off with a nice picnic. Most guests come back multiple times.
