Palisade State Park

If you enjoy camping or golfing, then Utah's Palisade State Park is the vacation spot of your dreams. This charming enclave a little over a hundred miles south of Salt Lake City offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities.
Tee off
One of the most unique aspects of Palisade State Park is the golf course. State-owned golf courses are a bit of a rarity, especially when they are this well-maintained. The 18-hole course is known for its fast greens that sneak up on putters with some subtle breaks. Summer is the best time to visit, as the course is closed until the frost melts off in the morning during the cooler months.
Hit the water
Even if golf is not your thing, there is plenty of fun at Palisade State Park. A small man-made reservoir was created for swimming and fishing. The water is a little chilly, but one dip in it leaves you feeling refreshed all day. Powerboats are not allowed, but canoes and paddleboats are available to rent for a small fee. The reservoir is kept stocked to the brim with fish, making it a popular spot for beginner anglers.
Stay over
A number of campsites line the banks of the reservoir; reserve them online. Six camping cabins are also available for city slickers.
Whether you are interested in golfing or camping, Palisade State Park is a great vacation choice. Gorgeous views of unspoiled nature combined with tons of waterside fun, draw locals in droves to this hot spot.
