Millsite State Park

The host to nearly 35,000 visitors in 2010, Millsite State Park is located in western Utah's Emery County. The nearest town is Ferron, which lies four miles to the east. Visitors can pay a day fee for use of the park or purchase an annual pass. Millsite State Park remains open throughout the year except on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Park facts

Millsite State Park stands at an elevation of 6,100 feet and covers 638 acres, which encompasses the 435 acres of Millsite Reservoir. It has fire pits, areas for group day use, 20 campsites that accommodate RV trailers, a beach, docks, a boat ramp and picnic facilities. In addition, a golf course with nine holes stands next to the park on the reservoir's eastern side. Campsite reservations are not mandatory but are encouraged. The area receives an average of 12 inches of rainfall per year.

Park activities

The range of activities available at Millsite State Park includes water-skiing, boating, golfing, camping, hiking and mountain biking. Visitors can also take boats out on the reservoir and go fishing for rainbow trout, splake, cutthroat trout and other varieties of fish. In the winter, ice fishing is permitted. The golf course, which stretches for 3,000 yards and is par 36, features elevation changes and tee-offs from cliffs.
