Off-road vehicle enthusiasts can ride to their heart’s content at the Jordan River Off-Highway Vehicle Park in Salt Lake City, Utah. Designed with dirt bikes in mind, the park offers a challenge for anyone looking to churn up a little dust.

The tracks

The designated State Recreation Area of Jordan River OHV Park features four separate tracks, complete with tabletops and banked turns. Two tracks are reserved for motocross use, with a novice track and a grand-prix track that are both open to off-highway motorcycles (OHMs) and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs).

Know before you go

Park regulations state that all riders must wear a helmet and all machines must have current registration. Youths 8-16 years of age are required to pass a state-required youth off-highway vehicle education program and carry their certificate of completion in order to ride the tracks. Children under the age of eight are not allowed to operate an OHV in Utah. The park offers modern restroom facilities, vending machines and drinking water, and it is a day use only park. The track is generally open from early April until mid-October, weather permitting.

Area events

Located on the Wasatch Front and just 8 miles northwest of downtown Salt Lake City, the park is easily accessed via freeway. A wide variety of arts and entertainment activities are found nearby, from world-class ski resorts to museums, theater and a vibrant city night life.
